Traffic chaos on M5 near Bristol with three-hour delays

Drivers on the M5 near Bristol face traffic mayhem this afternoon, with journeys delayed by up to three hours.
An earlier incident in which a vehicle flipped onto its roof and closed two lanes northbound between junctions 15 and 14 (M4 Almondsbury and the B4509 Thornbury) around midday is still causing massive queues on the motorway.
The Highways Agency says jams are stretching all the way down to junctions 20 (the B3133 Clevedon) and that normal traffic conditions are not expected until at least 5.30pm.
There is also congestion on the southbound carriageway between junctions 11a and 15 because of another accident, causing drivers an extra 30 minutes than usual.
