The assault took place on Park Street in Bristol at 3am on Saturday, September 15.
The men had racial abuse shouted at them and were then assaulted. They both received facial injuries.
A man is believed to have intervened and tried to stop the assault.
An investigation is underway and local CCTV is being examined.
Anyone who witnessed the assault or knows the people responsible should contact police on 101.
